3 DAYS HUCHUY QOSQO & MACHU PICCHU ADVENTURE – TRIP DETAILS

DAY 1: CUSCO – PATABAMBA – HUCHUY QOSQO

Patabamba (3,800 m / 12,467 ft). Trek gently uphill for 3 hours to the highest point (4,200 m / 13,779 ft) with breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and valleys.

Descend to Pucamarca, exploring hidden Inca ruins, then continue along the original Inca Trail to Huchuy Qosqo. Discover the site’s ancient history with your expert guide before heading to a local homestay. Enjoy afternoon tea, a homemade dinner, and an authentic cultural experience with your hosts. End the day stargazing under the Andean night sky.

DAY 2: HUCHUY Q’OSCO – OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALIENTES

After a hearty breakfast with breathtaking views, explore the ancient Inca city of Huchuy Qosqo. Wander through sacred temples, terraces, ceremonial plazas, and advanced water channels while uncovering the secrets of this hidden citadel.

Begin a 2-hour descent to Lamay, where private transport takes you to Urubamba for a traditional Andean lunch. Continue to Moray, the “Greenhouses of the Incas,” with its circular agricultural terraces, then visit Maras and the Pre-Inca Salt Mines, home to thousands of sparkling saltpans harvested by local families for generations.

End the day at Ollantaytambo, exploring one of the most stunning Inca towns and archaeological complexes of the Sacred Valley. Board the evening train to Aguas Calientes and check into your 3★ hotel, resting for the grand finale at Machu Picchu.

DAY 3: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHUPICCHU – AGUAS CALIENTES – CUSCO

Begin your grand finale with an early breakfast at your hotel before boarding one of the first buses to Machu Picchu, arriving in time for the magical sunrise over the Lost City of the Incas—an unforgettable experience!

Enjoy a guided 2-hour tour through Machu Picchu’s agricultural, residential, and religious sectors, taking in spectacular views while learning about the history, engineering, and spirituality of this Wonder of the World.

After your tour, descend to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included), with time to shop for souvenirs, stroll through town, or relax in the hot springs.

In the afternoon, board the Expedition Train (2:55 pm or 3:20 pm) along the Urubamba River, passing rushing whitewater and glimpses of Wiñay Wayna perched on the cliffs. Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, your private driver will transfer you back to your Cusco hotel (approx. 7:00 pm).
