DAY 1: CUSCO – KM 104 – WIÑAY WAYNA – SUN GATE – MACHU PICCHU.
Pick-up from your hotel at 4:30 a.m. and transfer by private bus to Ollantaytambo Station (~2 hours). Board the train to Km 104, the start of the Short Inca Trail.
Walk a few minutes to explore Chachabamba (2,100 m / 6,889 ft), then continue 3.5 hours to the impressive Wiñayhuayna (2,600 m / 8,530 ft) for lunch with panoramic views.
Afterward, hike 2 hours to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku, 2,730 m / 8,956 ft) for your first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu, then descend to the citadel to take iconic photos.
Finally, descend by bus to Aguas Calientes (2,040 m / 6,692 ft) and enjoy tea time before dinner at your campsite by the Urubamba River.

DAY 2: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHUPICCHU – AGUAS CALIENTES – CUSCO
Pick-up from your hotel at 4:30 a.m. and transfer by private bus to Ollantaytambo Station (~2 hours). Board the train to Km 104, the start of the Short Inca Trail.

Huayna Picchu Mountain is optional treks within Machu Picchu Citadel which does not include a guide. The climb is usually done on your own after your tour of Machu Picchu Citadel.
