DAY 1: CUSCO – TINKI – UPIS TREK & MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE
Start early with a 5:00 a.m. pickup in Cusco and enjoy a scenic ride along the Cusco–Puerto Maldonado route, passing charming Andean villages like Urcos and Ccatca.
Arrive at Tinki (3,550 m / 11,646 ft), the gateway to the majestic Ausangate, and begin your trek through wide-open pampas, glacial landscapes, and traditional villages offering an authentic glimpse of Andean life.
Stop for a midday lunch with stunning views of Ausangate, then continue to our first campsite at Upis (4,250 m / 13,944 ft), where the grandeur and serenity of the Andes surround you.

DAY 2: UPIS – ARAPA PASS – AUSANGATE CCOCHA HIGH-ALTITUDE TREK
Wake up in the heart of the Andes with a warm cup of coca tea, then enjoy breakfast before setting out at 6:30 a.m. for a day of high-altitude adventure.
Trek up to Arapa Pass (4,800 m / 15,748 ft) and be rewarded with panoramic views of the majestic Ausangate Mountain. Descend into a serene valley dotted with turquoise lagoons, glaciers, and waterfalls, stopping for lunch in this breathtaking landscape.
Continue across flat terrain to Ausangate (Pucacocha) Pass (4,900 m / 16,076 ft), with spectacular views of Ausangate Glacier and sparkling Ausangatecocha Lake. End the day at Surinecocha Lake campsite (4,600 m / 15,091 ft), where you’ll enjoy tea and dinner surrounded by the quiet majesty of the Andes.

DAY 3: AUSANGATECCOCHA – PALOMANI PASS – SORAPATA HIGH-ANDES TREK
After breakfast, tackle one of the trek’s most thrilling sections: a two-hour climb to Palomani Pass (5,200 m / 17,060 ft), with panoramic views of the entire Vilcanota Mountain Range.
Descend into Machuracay Valley for lunch amidst towering peaks and glaciers, then continue through stunning highland landscapes. By late afternoon, reach Sorapata Valley campsite (4,590 m / 15,059 ft), where you can relax, enjoy tea, and dine under the Andean stars.

DAY 4: SORAPATA – HAMPA PASS – PACCHANTA ANDES TREKKING ADVENTURE
Wake up with a warm cup of coca tea before setting off toward Hampa, trekking to the highest and final pass: Hampa Pass (5,000 m / 16,404 ft). Enjoy breathtaking views of the 7 Lakes of Ausangate, each shimmering in turquoise and deep blue, and pause for lunch surrounded by Andean peaks and glaciers.
In the afternoon, continue to Pacchanta campsite (4,200 m / 13,779 ft), where you can relax in natural hot springs and immerse yourself in the local highland culture. End the day with tea, dinner, and rest under the Andean sky.

DAY 5: PACCHANTA – TINKI – RETURN TO CUSCO ADVENTURE FINALE
Start your final day with a warm cup of coca tea and a hearty breakfast before a gentle trek through scenic valleys. Pause for snacks while soaking in the last breathtaking views of the Andes, then continue for a relaxed two-hour hike to Tinki, where a delicious farewell lunch awaits.
From Tinki, enjoy private transport back to Cusco, reflecting on the stunning landscapes, cultural encounters, and unforgettable memories of your Ausangate adventure.

WHAT TO PACK IN YOUR DUFFLE BAG (Carried by the horse)
As a direct local tour operator, we provide each traveler with a duffel bag during your pre-trek briefing. this bag will be carried by an extra pack horse included in your tour, with a weight allowance of up to 7 kg / 15 lbs. this includes your sleeping bag (approx. 2.5 kg), sleeping pad (approx. 1 kg), and extra clothing.
according to peruvian law, no duffel bag may exceed 7 kg (15 lbs). this regulation exists to protect the well-being of our pack horses and ensure responsible trekking practices. all bags will be weighed prior to departure.
if you require more than the 7 kg limit, you will need to carry the additional weight in your personal daypack. in practical terms, once we account for your sleeping bag and pad, you’ll have about 4 kg / 9 lbs available for personal gear.

WHAT TO PUT IN YOUR DAY BACKPACK
We highly recommend bringing a small daypack (30–40 liters) to carry your daily essentials. the rest of your belongings will be transported in your duffel bag and available at camp.
water: please bring enough water for the first morning. from the first lunch stop onward, we will provide you with freshly boiled and cooled water at every meal. don’t forget your refillable canteen or water bottle.
