Founded in 2013, Machu Picchu Condor Trek was created from the passion of its founders, Celso and Américo, both professional tour guides with over 20 years of experience. Their mission has always been to provide authentic, unforgettable travel experiences. What started as a shared dream to deliver the highest level of service has grown into one of the leading tour operators in the Cusco region.

At Machu Picchu Condor Trek, founders Celso Cayo and Américo Santa Cruz are committed to creating meaningful opportunities for local Andean communities. Born in Cusco, the capital of Inca culture, Celso and Américo are proud descendants of the noble Inca lineages (ayllus reales). Celso’s grandmother, María Atayupanqui Pachacuteq, carries the full legacy of the ninth Inca ruler, Pachacutec Yupanqui, the visionary who reorganized the Inca Empire and commissioned Machu Picchu. Recognized by local authorities, she preserved ancestral traditions that Celso now carries forward with pride.
Celso is also a member of La Panaca Atayupanqui Pachacuteq, a family-run nonprofit dedicated to preserving Inca heritage, which you can learn more about on their official page here. Through this organization, the culture, traditions, and knowledge of his ancestors continue to thrive.
Before founding Machu Picchu Condor Trek, Celso and Américo gained extensive experience as porters and guides, completing hundreds of treks along the Inca Trail and alternative Andean routes. Their deep knowledge of Inca culture, Andean landscapes, and local traditions has earned the admiration of travelers worldwide.
Fulfilling a childhood dream, they created the company to provide authentic, unforgettable adventures while supporting local communities through employment and cultural projects.
